The role:

BH Live is recruiting for a Casual receptionist to join our team at the Mountbatten Leisure Centre in Portsmouth. This is a busy role, providing high-quality customer service to all our customers and ensuring that our customers’ needs are fully met. Mountbatten Centre offers access to high-quality fitness facilities including a cardio zone, free weights, functional fitness, group cycle studio, sports hall, running track, swimming pool & spa.

You will:

Provide customer service and assist and advise all our customers in a polite and friendly manner, to make their visit to the centre an enjoyable experience.
Be responsible for the collection, control, and reconciliation of income in line with the centre’s procedure on cash handling.
Administer a booking system.
Administer and maintain membership schemes.
Assist with the administration of all centre’s courses, parties, and activities.
Assist with membership sales and enquiries.
Present to the public a high personal standard of appearance and presentation as per the centre’s staff charter.
Assist with general clerical duties including typing, preparation of literature and notices.
Assist with issuing leisure cards.
Operate our switchboard ensuring calls are dealt with promptly and efficiently.
Assist with the review and implementation of new systems applicable to the efficient operation of the customer service area.

You will need:

A genuine passion for providing excellent customer-focused service with great communication skills
You will need to be flexible in your approach to your working hours and to be available to work the hours that the site is open on a rota basis, this includes working evenings, weekends, and bank holidays

Due to the nature of our business hours of work will include weekends, bank holidays and evenings.
