Site Location: BH Live Active - Mountbatten Centre – Portsmouth

Full time equivalent salary: £25,467 per annum (pro rata for part time)

Hours per week: Various contracts available up to 40 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

The role:

BH Live is recruiting for full and part time Recreation Assistants to join our busy team at the Mountbatten Centre. Located in Hilsea, a five-minute drive from Portsmouth city centre, Mountbatten Centre offers access to high-quality fitness facilities including a cardio zone, free weights, functional fitness, group cycle studio, sports hall, running track, swimming pool & spa.

We are ideally looking for someone who already holds an NPLQ qualification but if you haven’t, BH Live can help support you with your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification & training (subject to a successful interview and swim test). This is a nationally recognised qualification and will supply you with lifelong skills, such as self-confidence, teamwork as well as the ability to save lives.

The next dates for the NPLQ course are:

Monday 7th – Thursday 10th July @ 5pm till 10pm (Hosted at MBC)

Saturday 12th – Sunday 13th July @ 8am till 4:30pm (Hosted at Charter)

You must be able to attend the full 6 days of the course.

You will:

• Work poolside
• Keep our customers safe
• Be a point of contact for our customers
• Erect, dismantle and move equipment
• Clean the centre and equipment

To be successful you will need:

• Your NPLQ qualification
• Satisfactory DBS Clearance
• Be a confident swimmer
• To keep calm under pressure and have good initiative
• The ability to concentrate whilst working poolside
• Great customer service skills
