Site Location: BH Live Active - Mountbatten Centre – Portsmouth

Salary: Up to £12.21 per hour

Contract Type: Casual

The role:

BH Live is recruiting for Casual Recreation Assistants to join our busy team at the Mountbatten Centre. Located in Hilsea, a five-minute drive from Portsmouth city centre, the Mountbatten Centre offers access to high-quality fitness facilities including a cardio zone, free weights, functional fitness, group cycle studio, sports hall, running track, swimming pool and a spa.

You will:

Work poolside
Be a point of contact for our customers
Be vigilant and keep our customers safe
Erect, dismantle and move equipment
Clean the centre and equipment

To be successful you will need:

Your NPLQ qualification
Satisfactory DBS Clearance
Be a confident swimmer
To keep calm under pressure and have good initiative
The ability to concentrate whilst working poolside
Great customer service skills

The Mountbatten Centre is running an NPLQ course, please see details below:

Dates: Monday 30th March until Friday 3rd April 2026

Timings: 8am - 4.30pm every day

Requirements: You must be available to attend the above times and attend the course across all 5 days

An NPLQ qualification is an essential requirement of this role.
