Site Location: BH Live Active - Mountbatten Centre – Portsmouth
Salary: Up to £12.21 per hour
Contract Type: Casual
The role:
BH Live is recruiting for Casual Recreation Assistants to join our busy team at the Mountbatten Centre. Located in Hilsea, a five-minute drive from Portsmouth city centre, the Mountbatten Centre offers access to high-quality fitness facilities including a cardio zone, free weights, functional fitness, group cycle studio, sports hall, running track, swimming pool and a spa.
You will:
- Work poolside
- Be a point of contact for our customers
- Be vigilant and keep our customers safe
- Erect, dismantle and move equipment
- Clean the centre and equipment
To be successful you will need:
- Your NPLQ qualification
- Satisfactory DBS Clearance
- Be a confident swimmer
- To keep calm under pressure and have good initiative
- The ability to concentrate whilst working poolside
- Great customer service skills

The Mountbatten Centre is running an NPLQ course, please see details below:
Dates: Monday 30th March until Friday 3rd April 2026
Timings: 8am - 4.30pm every day
Requirements: You must be available to attend the above times and attend the course across all 5 days
An NPLQ qualification is an essential requirement of this role.
